The inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League may be the third tier of men’s European club competitions, but it will be the only chance at silverware this season for AS Roma (Italy) and Feyenoord (Netherlands), who will be eager to be the first team to hoist the trophy.
To think that the inception of the Europa Conference League was met with mixed reaction following the initial proposals by UEFA, which eventually green-lighted the tournament in 2021. But for clubs that miss out on qualifying for the Champions League and Europa League, it’s another opportunity to compete against European competition and chase silverware.
The competition has attracted plenty of attention its first year, with the quarterfinals including representatives from six different leagues across Europe.
The Italian and Dutch giants were the ones to survive the knockout rounds and will go head to head in a match that will be the appetizer for the Champions League main course event three days later in Paris.

The arena, which is also the new home of the Albania national team, is one of the newest stadiums in Europe. The Albanian FA opted to demolish the previous national stadium, the Qemal Stafa, in 2016 due to UEFA safety concerns.
The new stadium officially opened on November 2019, with Albania playing their first competitive game there later that month: a 2-0 UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier defeat to France in front of a 22,500-capacity crowd.
