Transfer Window REACTION: All the latest news after a stunning 12 weeks of transfers draws to an epic close

After an astonishing 12 weeks, the summer transfer window has now officially come to a close.

The future of England captain Harry Kane was a storyline that dominated much of the window, but Daniel Levy and Tottenham remained strong as they held onto their talisman.

But while Kane was a major talking point, his stay was perhaps dwarfed by the stunning bombshells that Lionel Messi joined PSG from Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo completed a stunning return to Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the British transfer record was smashed as Manchester City shelled out £ 100million for Jack Grealish, while Chelsea also brought back a former forward in Romelu Lukaku, for the measly sum of £ 98m.

Sportsmail will keep you up-to-date with all the latest reaction below.

Bayern Munich ‘fear wantaway Robert Lewandowski will simply TEAR UP his contract and leave for just £ 20.5m’, by using the rarely-used 2004 ‘Webster ruling’ which allows players over 28 to buy out their deals

Bayern Munich are growing increasingly concerned that star-striker Robert Lewandowski will take legal action as he continues to push for a move out of Germany. The Polish striker has made his desires to leave the club clear with the Bayern hierarchy, having refused to extend his current contract that comes to an end summer 2023. But with Lewandowski trying to force an exit this summer, with Barcelona interested in his services, the German club are worried the striker will take actions that not many have taken before.

Who can FINALLY fix Manchester United’s midfield? The Barcelona star who Ten Hag knows VERY well, a £ 100m Englishman looking to step up and long-standing targets at Wolves and Lazio are all summer options as they search for stars

It’s Manchester United’s most pressing need as the Erik ten Hag era at Old Trafford gets underway. A midfielder, or ideally two, to replace the departing Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata, finally solving a shortcoming in the United squad that has festered for several years now. Their lack of a top class defensive or central midfielder – with Fred and Scott McTominay the usual combination – has been brutally exposed by quite a few opponents in the underwhelming season that has just finished. Sportsmail assesses some of the possible targets in this problem position and United’s chances of signing them.

Alvaro Morata insists joining Juventus on a permanent deal is ‘NOT up to me’ as he speaks out on his future after his two-year loan from Atletico Madrid ended … as he pleas to a club who ‘is interested in playing me’

Spain forward Alvaro Morata (main and right inset) has spoken out on his Juventus future after his loan spell at the Italian club ended. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid man had spent the last two years on loan in Italy from Atletico Madrid, but it seems he will be forced to return back to the Spanish capital this summer. That’s at least in the meantime, with the forward having plenty to work out regarding his future next season and beyond. The £ 50million man, who scored Spain’s only goal as they drew with Portugal on Thursday, has been a favorite of Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri during his stay, so his comments are perhaps aimed at Madrid manager Diego Simeone (left inset), who loaned him out and is yet to give the forward an appearance since he joined the club permanently from Chelsea in 2020.

The 29-year-old Belgian striker has four years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge but is keen to end his time with the club to re-sign for Inter, who he left to join Chelsea in August.

Indeed, talkSPORT have said Lampard will look to use his ‘connections’ at Chelsea to lure Gallagher across to the blue half of Merseyside. Paulo Dybala puts Man United, Spurs and Arsenal on red alert by revealing he would ‘like to know’ the Premier League, as he prepares to leave Juventus on a free transfer this month

Dybala, 28, will become a free agent later this month when his contract with the Turin giants runs down, and bid an emotional goodbye to fans after his final home game. However, his presence in the market has left the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Inter Milan on red alert and prepared to swoop in. While Dybala is not getting carried away with the speculation, he has openly spoken about what may lie in store for him next, which could include a switch to England. It is unlikely that Dybala will remain without a club for too long this summer.
