News: Robert Lewandowski: My Bayern Munich story has come to an end
Robert Lewandowski has publicly stated his desire to leave Bayern Munich this summer, rather than at the end of his contract.
The Polish striker, 33, has scored 98 goals over the last two seasons, and came second in Ballon d’Or voting last November.
He has won eight consecutive Bundesliga titles since joining Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, as well as the 2019-20 Champions League.
However, he stated earlier this month that he would not renew his contract at the club, which expires in June 2023. Chief executive Oliver Kahn subsequently said that Lewandowski had an obligation to fulfill that deal.
The striker has now responded by stating his time at the club is over, and he hopes he will not be forced to stay for the upcoming season.
Barcelona have been linked with Lewandowski’s services.

News: Isco announces Real Madrid exit this summer after contract expiration
Real Madrid midfielder Isco has announced he will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires.
The 30-year-old joined Madrid from Malaga in 2013, and made almost 250 appearances for the side.
A much-feted signing on arrival, Isco’s initial years at Madrid were highly successful.
The Spanish international featured in a side who won three Champions League trophies between 2013 and 2018. However, he was less integral in recent seasons.

News: Ancelotti – Liverpool were ‘more decipherable’ than other sides in Champions League run
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed his preparations for Saturday’s Champions League final win were helped by Liverpool being “more decipherable” than their previous opponents.
Madrid won 1-0 after Vinicius Jr’s 59th minute goal, with Ancelotti’s side impressively keeping Klopp’s Liverpool side scoreless, helped by an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Speaking after the game, Ancelotti revealed that Liverpool’s clear identity under Jurgen Klopp, while making them formidable opponents, did hand him a blueprint for success.

Vitesse’s Eliazer Dasa available on a free
Israel international Eliazer Dasa, a right wing-back who can also play in midfield, is available as a free agent this summer. Dasa will leave Vitesse when his contract expires next month.
Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord are all interested in the 29-year-old, who was a regular for Vitesse in the Eredivisie. However, he is understood to be favoring a move abroad.
Dasa could be of interest to Premier League clubs, especially newly promoted sides, who might be on the lookout for a low-cost first-choice or right-back backup.

Give Thibaut Courtois his respect
Real Madrid had just won the Champions League, and amid all the celebrations at the Stade de France, Thibaut Courtois had something he wanted to get off his chest.
“Today, I needed to win a final – for my career, for all the hard work, to put respect on my name because I do not think I have enough respect, especially in England,” Courtois told UK broadcaster BT Sport. “I saw a lot of criticism that I was not good enough or whatever.”
How did he earn that respect? Dermot Corrigan analyzes.

ICYMI: Ralf Rangnick will not remain at Man Utd in consultancy role
Manchester United have announced Ralf Rangnick will not be staying at Old Trafford as a consultant despite his previous agreement with the club.

United said in a statement on Sunday: “We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months.

Mane leaving Liverpool: how we got here
If Mohamed Salah lit up the first half of the season, the second half belonged to Mane. He scored 13 of his 23 goals after returning triumphant from firing Senegal to Africa Cup of Nations glory.
Mane flourished after being moved into the number nine role by Jurgen Klopp following the arrival of Luis Diaz from Porto. Earlier this month his manager described him as “a machine” and “world class” after he kept the title race alive by heading home the winner away to Aston Villa.
butt The Athletic understands he’s set to leave the club. James Pearce explores how we got here.

Real Madrid: Doing the unglorious gloriously
Champions League finals are bitty, and scrappy, and decided by moments in the penalty boxes rather than on flow. And this Real Madrid side, in comparison to other European giants in recent years, simply have defensive players who can defend well, and attacking players who can attack well.
This Real aren’t a particularly effective league side – three La Liga titles in the last decade – but in finals, when you need the basics done well, they routinely have what it takes.

So, how did Forest get promoted?
When Steve Cooper – the 20th permanent manager since they were relegated from the top flight in 1999 – was appointed in September, with Forest rooted to the foot of the Championship table after taking a point from the first seven games, few would have put any money on him being the one to change that. Certainly not this season.
But the decision to hire the former Swansea City manager, the Welshman who won England the Under-17 World Cup five years ago, following Forest’s worst start to a season in 108 years ended in their best finish to a campaign in what felt like just as long.
Paul Taylor and Nick Miller report.
