Arsenal and Tottenham have already done the majority of their summer business, but Chelsea look set for a flurry of big deals. The likes of Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries and Frenkie de Jong are the latest potential signings being discussed.
Chelsea are reportedly in direct talks with Barcelona for De Jong and are hopeful of striking a deal, while the Blues have submitted a fresh bid for Brighton’s Cucurella worth more than £50 million. Jamie Vardy has been put forward as a surprise potential target, with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters a defensive consideration. In a £20m shock move, Chelsea confirmed an agreement for Aston Villa wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka last night.
In north London, Foxes playmaker Youri Tielemans remains a target for Arsenal, who are set to loan Hale End wonderkid Charlie Patino to Blackpool. Lucas Paqueta and Cody Gakpo are also still on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. Tottenham, meanwhile, are linked with Zaniolo’s Roma team-mate, though could turn to Adama Traore if that doesn’t come off. Arsenal ‘expected’ to make Tielemans move
Arsenal could be set to finally make an official bid for Youri Tielemans.
The Gunners have been linked with the Leicester midfielder for much of the summer, but the Guardian reports the Foxes are now expecting an offer to come soon.
With Tielemans entering the final year of his contract, and Leicester unwilling to sell the likes of Wesley Fofana and James Maddison, Arsenal appear to have a strong chance of landing Tielemans.
Henderson slams Man United treatment
Dean Henderson has hit out at his treatment by Manchester United, after joining Nottingham Forest on loan.
“The conversation I had coming out of the Euros squad was ‘You’re coming back here to be the number one’,” he told talkSport.
“I got Covid-19, came back, so I should have still been the number one but then nobody followed through with what they had told me.
“It was frustrating, because I turned down so many good loans last summer for that reason, and they wouldn’t let me go. To sit there for 12 months, it is really criminal, at my age, I was smoking.
“I told the hierarchy that I need to be playing football and to let me go, and I was almost gone before the manager (Erik ten Hag) came through the door. I have not spoken to him since.”
West Ham close in on Onana deal
West Ham have struck a deal worth £33million to sign Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, writes Malik Ouzia.
David Moyes is keen to bolster his squad with new signings ahead of the new season and the Hammers have reached a breakthrough in talks with Lille over the 20-year-old.
The Hammers will pay an initial £29m for Onana, plus a potential £4m in add-ons, and will now look to secure personal terms.

Telles set for Man United exit
Alex Telles is on the verge of signing a loan move away from Manchester United.
Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal between United and Sevilla has been agreed for a season-long loan move, which does not include any purchase option next summer.
The deal is likely to go through later this week when contracts have been signed.
Chelsea target teenager Casadei
Chelsea want to follow their move for Carney Chukwuemeka with the signing of Inter teenager Cesare Casadei as part of a succession plan to replace N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
The Blues have agreed to pay £20million for highly rated Aston Villa midfielder Chukwuemeka, who was a star of England Under-19s’ European Championship success this summer.
Chukwuemeka has traveled to London to discuss personal terms and the 18-year-old is set to move to Stamford Bridge on a long-term contract.
New owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are keen to invest in young players and are ready to make another big-money move for Casadei, who could also cost £20m.

Agent Odegaard fails in Haaland attempt
Erling Haaland delivered a blunt reply to Martin Odegaard’s attempt to persuade the striker to sign for Arsenal.
The Gunners captain has detailed his friendship with his fellow Norway international, which led to Odegaard sending fans’ social media messages onto Haaland in a bid to bring him to north London.
“We speak almost every day, we have a group on Snapchat with some of the guys from the team so we speak there a lot,” Odegaard told talkSPORT.
“When all the Arsenal fans were posting pictures of him and me, I would send them to him. I tried but unfortunately it wasn’t enough… he just laughed.”

Mari nears Arsenal exit
Pablo Mari is set to become the latest Arsenal player to leave the club this summer.
The centre-back is expected to sign for Monza in the coming days, with Sky Sport reporting that it will be a loan deal with an obligation to buy should the Serie A side avoid relegation this season.
With Bernd Leno joining Fulham and Lucas Torreira close to agreeing a move to Galatasaray, the Gunners’ summer clearout continues.
Newcastle consider third Maddison bid
Newcastle are weighing up whether to make a third bid for James Maddison.
The Chronicle reports that the Magpies are unwilling to be forced into spending well above their own valuation of Maddison, and with Brendan Rodgers insisting Leicester don’t want to sell it remains to be seen whether Newcastle continue in their push for the midfielder.
“I love him as a young guy, seeing him grow from when I first came in to a 25-year-old father; seeing him change in life and his football life,” Rodgers said.
“He is really pivotal to us. There is no way I would want to sell him.”
Diop not a happy man…
More social media fun from a Premier League centre-back.
West Ham’s Issa Diop has been linked with a move to Fulham, with his future at the London Stadium appearing uncertain.
Diop is not happy with something though, posting on Instagram: “Stop making up stories when you don’t know what’s going on in my life, thank you.”
Fofana’s Twitter games
Wesley Fofana remains a target for Chelsea and he’s been getting fans excited at his Twitter activity.
The centre-back removed ‘player at Leicester City’ from his bio, hinting at a possible move away from the King Power this summer.
But Fofana then liked a tweet from a Leicester fan’s account, which said removing that from his bio did not necessarily mean he was leaving.
Maybe Fofana was just bored yesterday.
