Ally McCoist and Jim White were every Rangers fan after seeing Ryan Kent have his point-blank chance deep into extra-time of the Europa League final somehow get kept out.
The Scottish giants went toe to toe with Eintracht Frankfurt in an entertaining 120 minutes of action in Seville, but ultimately fell short as they were beaten on penalties with as ex-Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey missing the crucial spot kick.

Frankfurt were the winners on the night
While Frankfurt had the better of chances during the match, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side had the best chance of the final in the closing stages of extra time when Kent forced a glorious save from Kevin Trapp in the Frankfurt goal – a stop that talkSPORT commentator Jim Proudfoot described as ‘the save of his life’.
Discussing that moment, White says he believed that it was the moment for the Rangers to wrap up their first European trophy in 50 years, but sadly it wasn’t to be.
Speaking to talkSPORT, White said: “The chance in extra time to Ryan Kent, that was the moment.
“That was the moment where we thought it was going to be won by Rangers, and it was not.
“They went so far tonight, but not far enough.
“It’s agony, but I must say, the Rangers fans to our left who have stayed as Eintracht got their trophy, stood to a man and applauded them and that was great to see.”

How on earth did Trapp keep this one out?
Kent knew that his miss late in extra time could prove costly
White added: “It was not to be. It was agony at the end, I must admit.
“Alex Crook and I was standing very close to pitch side in amongst some Eintracht fans and in amongst some Rangers fans and that moment when the penalty was saved, the Rangers fans dropped to their knees and the Eintracht Frankfurt fans were jumping and celebrating.
“They knew then that it was advantage them, big time.”
We did not have Gers legend Ally McCoist at our disposal tonight but his reaction to the chance really says it all.
As mentioned, Ramsey’s miss proved to be the decisive moment in the final, Trapp getting in the way of the spot-kick the Welshman failed to really catch.
On Ramsey, White said: “He will be in a world of his own, total dejection for him.
“There was so much responsibility at that moment, so much was riding on it, and he failed. That’s the fact of the matter.
“He did not come up to the spot and do what Rangers needed him to do and I’m afraid that’s the moment that it swung in Eintracht Frankfurt’s favor.
“It’s a cruel, cruel process of events, we know that, and Rangers go home without this trophy.”

Everyone associated with Rangers will hope it doesn’t take another 50 years to get another opportunity like that.
