Phil Foden is just 21 years old, but has now won four Premier League titles a tally that surpasses a number of top-flight legends.

City won their sixth Premier League title in ten years on Sunday, coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa, and pipping Liverpool to the coveted trophy.

The midfielder broke the record for being the youngest-ever player to win the Premier League in 2018 at just 17-years old, securing himself a Guinness World Record.

And Foden described the moment he knew his team had secured the title on Sunday as being up there with the feeling of Sergio Aguero’s last-minute winner he witnessed as a fan in 2012.

“It’s definitely got to be up there with Sergio’s moment,” this season’s Young Premier League player of the Year said after lifting the trophy.

“The team that Pep [Guardiola] has built, we always keep believing until the end. Not many teams could do that. ”

Foden’s latest trophy means his Premier League title tally surpasses a host of top-flight greats.

Everton boss and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is one of the league’s former stars that has now been overtaken by the City youngster.

The top-flight’s highest-scoring midfielder was crowned a Premier League champion three times in 2005, 2006 and 2010 during his 13-year stint at Stamford Bridge.

Similarly, Crystal Palace manager and former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has been surpassed by Foden, along with City legend Yaya Toure.

The England international now boasts more Premier League titles than Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo won it with the Red Devils in three consecutive seasons – 2007, 2008 and 2009 – but his first season back at Old Trafford ended in a sixth-place finish.

Foden has a way to go before he breaks the record of the most titles won by a player in England’s top league, with Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes winning it 13 times and 11 times respectively.

But after achieving so much at 21, and given he won his first league title at a younger age than record-holder Giggs, the sky is the limit for the City starlet.
