Two young Chelsea midfielders have both been linked with transfer interest from Everton and a reunion with Frank Lampard, who is hoping to use his connections ahead of next season
Everton boss Frank Lampard has reportedly looked into Chelsea midfield duo Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour ahead of the summer transfer window.
talkSPORT have claimed that Toffees boss Lampard is hoping to cash in on his Chelsea connections as he looks to bolster his midfield ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and is said to have scouted two midfielders who left the club on loan last season.
While Scottish international Gilmour had a bit-part role for Norwich City, who finished rock-bottom of the Premier League, Gallagher flourished for Crystal Palace, with his form leading to him breaking into the England squad and being nominated for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be a fan of Gallagher and it is believed that the English international will spend pre-season with the Blues’ senior side this summer before making a decision over the midfielder.
Gilmour meanwhile started for Scotland on Wednesday night in their 3-1 defeat to Ukraine that saw them miss out qualification for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Lampard was a big admirer of Gilmour’s while the two worked together at Stamford Bridge, giving him a run in the Blues’ first-team before he was sacked in January 2021.

Everton are expected to new further additions in midfield following the end of the 2021/22 campaign that saw the Toffees avoid relegation in their penultimate game of the season.
Lampard made the double signing of Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur and Donny van de Beek on loan from Manchester United shortly after his arrival earlier this year. However, Van de Beek has now returned to Old Trafford, while Alli has started just once since leaving Spurs, suggesting further enforcements are required.
During his campaign at Selhurst Park, Gallagher scored eight times for Patrick Vieira’s side and helped them reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, bowing out to eventual finalists and Gallagher’s parent club at the semi-finals
He also has three caps for England and will hope to add to that in the coming weeks against upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Hungary (twice), Germany and Italy.
While Everton have been linked with the duo, a number of other players have also been linked with interest from Goodison Park, including Burnley defender James Tarkowski and Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.
However, forward duo Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have both been linked with transfer interest from Arsenal, with Calvert-Lewin also reportedly being eyed by Newcastle United.
