Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that personal discussions between the player and the club had begun, although no official bid had been made by Chelsea.

However, Barcelona manager Xavi has said that the club does not want to sell Aubameyang, even though they added star recruit Robert Lewandowski to their roster.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for weeks, while the Catalan club chases midfielder Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.

Manchester United have identified the Netherlands international as a top priority during this window, as they look to improve on their sixth-place finish last season in the Premier League.

Georginio Wijnaldum is set to join Italian giants AS Roma on a loan deal, with the option to buy as well.

Wijnaldum won a Champions League title with Liverpool in 2019, after scoring in the Reds’ incredible comeback win over Barcelona at Anfield.

The 31-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Paris Saint-Germain, after signing with the French champions last year on a free transfer.

Football insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Wijnaldum will have his medical with the club on Friday morning, before being unveiled to Roma fans.
